Letter from the President
Greetings to you! We have had a busy year with our biggest success being
the passage of SB2422 to make changes to the LPC licensure law. Thank you
to all
who were active in that process!!! There is a bill currently in Congress entitled
the “Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction
Equity Bill” AMHCA and ACA have worked at the national level to pass
this legislation. While each house passed a form of the bill, there is still
work to be done to pass the bill with similar wording in both houses and then
to get it signed by the President. Please contact your Federal legislators
to let them know your interest and desire for them to support the passage of
this bill.
MLPCA members have been active in planning to provide informative and interesting
continuing education at the MCA Convention, November 5-7, 2008. Some of the highlights
